How we deliver quality
- To ensure consistent translation quality, we use an intensive
four-step quality control process. This process includes translation
by native speakers of the target language, combined with extensive
cross-editing by native speakers of the source language. Our
translation quality control process is made easier and more consistent by
having our translation staff work together in-house. (Click
here for a detailed description of our
Quality Assured Translation process.)
- We select staff for each translation project
based on their linguistic and specialist knowledge skills.
- A minimum of two competent translators (a representative
of each of the two languages involved) always check all of
your work.
- Only the very best translation and language
specialists have been recruited from around the world to work
at NZTC International. We employ only professional translation staff who
qualify on the basis of a highly competitive written examination,
and who are graduates and native speakers of the language into
which they translate.
- We implement a rigorous staff training programme
with special emphasis on translation quality systems.
- We use state-of-the-art equipment and software,
have a multi-platform environment (Macintosh and Windows) and
run all mainstream page-layout, graphics and related software
applications.
- Translation memory software is used to ensure
terminological consistency throughout each project, consistent
use of client-specific terminology and high quality translation output.
How we deliver on time
- We maintain a team of specialised project managers
whose task is to schedule and monitor the progress of your work
to ensure that it is completed by agreed deadlines. Our project
managers hold regular scheduling meetings to ensure that all
work is on track and potential bottlenecks are resolved ahead
of time.
- Our experience in communication at a distance
and our good production systems ensure that all contact with
clients to resolve project-related problems is made in a timely
and efficient manner.
- Broadband Internet connection means we can
upload and download large files, offer FTP transfer and provide
instant communication with our clients anywhere in the world.
- The company is a linguistic 'one-stop shop'.
Every service required to produce high-quality foreign-language
publications is maintained in-house: language specialists in
all the major commercial languages, editors, design capacity
and expertise, multilingual typesetting, graphics, scanning,
wide ranges of Asian fonts and every major form of electronic
output is supported.
- With a large staff of professional translators,
editors and production co-ordinators efficiently organised under
one roof, we are able to deliver faster than our competitors
who rely heavily on outsourcing.
- We have firmly established relationships with
many specialist translators around the world to provide added
capacity if our in-house staff are booked, or to provide specialist
skills for unique projects or languages.
- Because of New Zealand's geographical location
in the South Pacific, we have a twelve-hour time-zone advantage
over our competitors in Europe. We are therefore able to provide
an overnight translation service and deliver to our European
clients by 9 a.m. the next business day.
Why we represent value for money:
- Good quality assurance systems lead to high
initial accuracy, which in turn reduces the cost of production
- giving you higher translation quality more quickly.
- Volume production keeps our prices highly competitive.
- There are no hidden add-ons in our quoting.
- We can hold costs because we have all the necessary
expertise located under one roof - linguistic skills, layout
and design, website production, etc.
- NZTC International achieves large economies
of scale from the high volume of international turnover that
can be produced by fulltime staff in our centralised production
headquarters. This is a more cost-effective structure than is
typical for most of our competitors, who rely on outsourcing
to freelancers. NZTC International is therefore able to offer
high translation quality at uniquely competitive prices.
- Our local New Zealand economy provides a low-overhead
but high-technology location (relative to other countries) for
our Head Office.
- Purchasing translations from New Zealand can
provide tax advantages for some clients, e.g. GST-exempt for
companies in Australia, VAT-exempt for companies in the UK and
Europe.
- Regardless of where our clients are in the
world, it costs nothing to get their work to us. If the work
to be translated is available in hard copy only, and needs to
be faxed to us, we have a freefax service from most countries
(click here for a list of our international freefax numbers).
How much experience do we have?
- Our translation staff collectively have more
than 150 years experience in the translation industry.
- We have been translating for companies around
the world, either directly or through our agents, for almost twenty
years. We regularly provide high-quality translations for global corporations and brands
such as DaimlerChrysler in Stuttgart, KPMG in Amsterdam, and
Saatchi & Saatchi because they rely on our quality assurance systems.
Confidentiality
- Every day, NZTC International is entrusted
with work that is highly confidential. All staff exercise strict
confidentiality procedures so that we never compromise the security
of our clients' business information.
- Because we have so many permanent staff members,
most work can be completed in-house at our production headquarters.
Unlike most of our competitors, we do not have to rely on outsourcing
to freelancers, and this increases the level of information
security.
- When particular projects do require work to
be outsourced to language specialists, subcontractors are subject to
strict confidentiality arrangements.
If you have confidential work, please refer to our contact us page to make enquiries.
