Evelyn
Olsen Born in a small village in northern Germany (near Kiel), Evelyn originally came to us as a final-year student from Flensburg University, for six months' practical experience in a busy translation office. She then returned to Germany to complete her translation degree. Once she had done so, we quickly invited her back to New Zealand, since we realised that her talent as a technical translator would be an invaluable asset to the company. When she's not worrying about
software localisation issues, Evelyn is probably
wishing she was back riding her ponies in the
north of Germany. She has a degree in Technical
Translation from the Flensburg University of
Applied Sciences ('Fachhochschule'). |

Biljana
Vignjevic Biljana was born in Donji Lapac in former Yugoslavia, but was brought up and educated in Germany. Her thorough familiarity with the German language and culture secured for her a job as a German-language news presenter in Zagreb, Croatia, where she also worked for the Croatian Technical Translation Society. Biljana has a degree in English
and German Literature and Linguistics, and has
been a fulltime translator with NZTC
International since 1998. |

Michael
Ashdown Born in New Zealand, Michael gained his BSc (Hons) in Botany at Victoria University of Wellington, and also engaged in postgraduate studies in landscape planning and design. He later spent thirteen years living in Munich, Germany, initially working in an environmental planning consultancy as a landscape ecologist. However, Michael also developed his linguistic skills during his time in Germany, and spent his later years there working as a freelance German English translator and editor for specialist publications. He joined NZTC International in August 2002. In additional to his scientific
and linguistic interests, Michael is also a keen
film enthusiast and music lover. While his
inclinations may be tipped towards classical
music, certain types of rock music also very
clearly arouse his passions. |
