NZTC contributes to international translation technology symposium
NZTC shared its expertise at the third Translation Technology Symposium hosted by the Interpreting and Translation Research Group (ITRG) of the University of Western Sydney (UWS) in July 2010. The annual event brings together researchers, academics and practitioners from all over the world to explore the themes of translation technology and the future of the translation industry.
NZTC Marketing Director Hagen Issell was invited to take part in an expert panel discussion on the role of translation technology research in shaping the future of the translation industry, along with Dr. Lindsay Heywood (CEO, Australian National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters), Tea Dietterich (Vice-President of AUSIT) and Dr. Uldis Ozolins (adjunct Professor at UWS).
NZTC Technical Business Manager Julie Dumbovich presented a two-hour workshop on the latest edition of SDL Trados Studio 2009, the groundbreaking translation memory tool from SDL Trados Technologies.
The Symposium highlighted the increasingly significant role of technology in the translation industry.
