Multilingual websites are essential for companies interested in maximising their global business. NZTC International can provide quality-assured translations of your website content, whether in static form (such as HTML) or within a database-driven content management system.
Content translation for multilingual websites is one of the biggest growth areas in the translation industry. For companies that operate globally, a website is likely to be a vital communication and marketing tool, and an integral part of the company’s marketing strategy. For this reason, it is important that all target audiences can read and understand the site and feel comfortable using it. More than 70 percent of Internet users worldwide do not speak English as a first language, and studies have shown that customers are 80 percent more likely to purchase from a website which is in their own language.
If you are considering having your existing website translated, we can offer a variety of approaches, depending on your needs:
We can translate your web content and return it to you as a normal Microsoft Word file or text document. The translation would then need to be re-entered into the HTML file or transferred into dynamic-content databases by the original web developer.
If you wish us to supply translated content as text files only, we recommend that our translators proofread your re-development work to ensure that the foreign-language site is free from language-related layout errors.
Rather than translate the web page content only, with a minimal amount of extra work NZTC can integrate the finished translation in the same format as the original page, ready for publication on the web. We can supply translated content in all popular web formats, including HTML, SHTML XML, PHP, ASP and Java.
This option is available for Chinese, Japanese and Korean, and also for all European languages. As part of this process, we would undertake a final check of the site after publication.
To ensure consistent layout and to eliminate the risk of any coding errors, we use a range of tools, including Frontpage, Dreamweaver, Trados Tag Editor, SDLX and SDL Trados Studio 2009.
There are several benefits from using this option:
If your website content is maintained via a dynamic content management system (CMS), NZTC can work with this in a number of ways.
If you are considering translating your website, our Sales and Marketing team would be happy to recommend the best approach for your specific needs.
To ensure your website is attractive to potential customers abroad, NZTC can review the cultural appropriateness of your existing or proposed website designs. This includes the use of images and colours, and also the suitability of navigation and interface design for allowing effective translation and use in other languages. This service is also known as Internationalisation Assessment.
Generally, standard Quality Assured Translation rates apply to website translations. A small charge may be added for overtyping HTML or other file formats, depending on the amount of reformatting or adjusting HTML or other code that is required. Asian languages typically involve extra work, and so are likely to cost slightly more than European languages.
